Achieving gender equality has always been a business priority at PTC, which is why we are proud of our female representation across the organization.
Today, women represent 51.9 percent of our workforce in the U.S.*, 36 percent at Board of Directors level and 40 percent at Executive Committee level**. Furthermore, we have 66 percent female representation across our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (ED&I) committees. At our international headquarters in Ireland, women hold 60 percent of the leadership roles***.
Globally, the journey to improving gender equality continues, and at PTC, we remain committed to creating opportunities for women throughout our leadership pipeline.
We have specific initiatives and programs in place to make this possible, which focus on empowering, inspiring and advancing women at all levels.
Hiring and Retention
At PTC, we expand beyond traditional channels to find and develop diverse and underrepresented talent. Our inclusive hiring practices include crafting bias-free job descriptions, diverse sourcing, structured interviews, blind recruitment, diverse hiring panels, unconscious bias training for hiring managers and offering candidate support accommodations. These measures ensure a fair and equitable recruitment process, thereby creating a more inclusive workplace.
PTC has made a firm commitment to supporting work flexibility and has not mandated strict onsite working arrangements. This flexibility supports female employees to achieve a better work-life balance, particularly if they juggle their working life with caregiving responsibilities.
PTC also offers a variety of benefits, rewards and well-being options to support and retain working parents in the workplace. These include medical, financial, child bonding & family planning, work-life balance, assistance programs and more.**
Empowering & Inspiring Women
To cultivate an open and inclusive workplace culture, we established channels for transparent communication where employees, regardless of gender, feel comfortable discussing their concerns. By encouraging open dialogue, we have created a supportive atmosphere where women can voice their needs without fear of judgment.
We have a dedicated Employee Resource Group, Women + International Network (W+IN), which provides opportunities for women to connect across geographies, disciplines and structures, and learn about and address topics that impact women.
The chapter also organizes events and hosts the annual “WOW Women Awards” which recognize women across the organization for championing inclusivity and equity in the workplace and beyond.
In addition, our “She Rises” Business Resource Group represents and empowers women of color at PTC, aiming to enhance personal and professional development of women and striving to transform their experiences in the corporate environment.
In 2023, The She Rises group brought together company leaders to underscore the criticality of nurturing talent and expanding professional development avenues for women of color. Through a series of insightful meetings, She Rises focused on dismantling systemic barriers and fostering an environment where women of color are empowered to ascend to new heights in their careers.
We celebrate and commemorate observances that raise awareness and reinforce messages about women’s achievements. Observances such as International Women’s Day, and International Day of Women and Girls in Science are celebrated virtually and in person, globally.
Embracing gender diversity is about harnessing the full potential of a diverse workforce to drive innovation, make better decisions, and achieve long-term success. It’s not only the right thing to do, but a key business imperative.
