At PTC, we advance women professionally by providing career growth and professional learning and development opportunities.
All employees are encouraged to create individual development plans. These plans are realized through a variety of learning resources and workplace training programs that are offered to equip employees with new technical and behavioral skills. These programs cover leadership excellence, Clifton Strengths development, mind tools, self-awareness, on-the-job skills development and more.
In addition, PTC offers sponsorship for further education and professional qualifications outside of the organization. In the last 12-24 months, several female employees have pursued further studies at universities, and in 2023, a female employee was sponsored to complete the American Chamber of Commerce Ireland Women in Global Organisations programme.
Through our Coaching and Mentoring Center of Excellence, we facilitate mentor matching and offer women one-on-one, personalized guidance and support, for both personal and professional development, as well as access to leadership. Since the program was launched in 2023, 80 women have been coached and 40 have been mentored.
Promoting Career Pathways
PTC conducts regular workforce assessments and actively promotes career advancements for women. In the last 12-24 months, more than 50 women have been promoted across Europe.
To increase women’s representation in leadership positions, PTC launched the Emerging Leaders program, a global program aimed at developing and growing the pool of diverse leaders at PTC. To date, three cohorts have been completed and one is underway which include 44 women, representing 62% of all participants.
Inclusive Leadership
Inclusive leadership is critical to the success at PTC. To ensure we have a diverse set of voices where decisions are made, we encourage all to lead with authenticity and empathy, which allows people to feel comfortable being vulnerable and safe so they can ask questions. We also promote embracing curiosity and our differences.
Patrice Thornton VP, Human Resources EMEA APAC at PTCAddressing gender diversity is not just one simple thing – it’s actually a million things. There is no ONE story of women – we all have different experiences based on all the elements of our identity. To help the next generation meet their potential, we need to ensure equal opportunities, but we can’t do so without taking work-life balance into the equation. We must support women in a new way and be more aware of the external pressures that are impacting this generation.
