At the European Diversity Awards this November, PTC was honored to receive the lululemon Community Project of the Year Award for its outstanding contribution to diversity and inclusion.
The European Diversity Awards is Europe’s most prestigious and widely respected diversity event, recognizing and celebrating organizations and individuals that have shown innovation, creativity and commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
PTC’s award-winning, community-driven initiative was based on its partnership with Fédération Internationale de Powerchair Football Association (FIPFA) to enable people with rare diseases and disabilities to participate and compete in the FIPFA Powerchair Football World Cup 2023. The event, held in Sydney, Australia, is the pinnacle of international Powerchair Football competitions and one of the fastest growing sports among people with disabilities.
Through sponsorship and on-and-off the field engagement, PTC:
- Supported inclusion & wellbeing of people with rare diseases and disabilities
- Facilitated participation for disabled athletes
- Supported organizers to stage the World Cup
- Raised awareness of disability sports and encouraged more participants and supporters to the sport
Nermina Weber Director, Corporate Communications and member of the European Community Team at PTCWith this initiative, PTC has also made it possible for athletes with rare diseases and disabilities to realize their dream of representing their country, which makes us very proud.
